Graphic Village’s Solar Ribbon-Cutting Highlights a Commitment to Sustainable Manufacturing and Long-Term Energy Resilience
Graphic Village, in partnership with Melink Solar, celebrated the completion of its new rooftop solar array with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Blue Ash headquarters — marking the installation of the largest rooftop solar PV system in the Cincinnati region.
The 1,454-kilowatt system, comprised of nearly 2,500 solar panels, is expected to offset approximately 80% of the facility’s annual electricity consumption, representing a significant investment in both sustainability and operational efficiency for the commercial print marketing company.
The Solar Celebration brought together partners, clients, and community leaders, as well as team members from Graphic Village. Attendees included Blue Ash Mayor Jill Cole, members of Blue Ash City Council, representatives from the City of Cincinnati, and regional business leaders such as Jamie Smith, Publisher of the Cincinnati Business Courier, and Brian Beaudry of REDI Cincinnati.
The event also received coverage from WKRC-TV — further highlighting the regional impact of the project.

A Strategic Investment in the Future of Manufacturing
In his remarks, Executive Chairman Eric Kahn emphasized that the installation represents more than a ceremonial milestone.
“This is not just about a ribbon-cutting,” Kahn said. “It’s about a deliberate investment in how we operate, how we think about the future, and how we continue to evolve as an organization.”
For more than a century, Graphic Village has adapted alongside the industries it serves. This solar installation reflects a continued commitment to improving not only operational performance, but also environmental responsibility.
Sustainability as an Operational Discipline
Graphic Village views sustainability as an integrated part of its business — not a standalone initiative.
“Sustainability, for us, isn’t a headline. It’s a discipline,” Kahn noted. “It shows up in how we source materials, how we manage waste and efficiency, and now, how we generate and consume energy.”
The solar array builds on the company’s broader sustainability efforts, including responsible material sourcing, FSC® certification, and ongoing investments in efficient production practices.
Driving Efficiency, Resilience, and Long-Term Value
Beyond environmental impact, the solar installation represents a strategic business decision.
Energy is one of the most significant cost inputs in manufacturing. By investing in solar energy, Graphic Village is improving cost predictability, strengthening operational resilience, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service for its clients.
“That balance — between responsibility and performance — is where we believe the future of manufacturing lives,” Kahn said.

A Collaborative Effort
Graphic Village recognized Melink Solar for its expertise in designing and delivering the system, noting the importance of strong partnerships in executing projects of this scale.
The company also expressed appreciation for the support of local officials and community leaders, whose presence underscored the importance of continued investment in regional infrastructure and sustainable innovation.
Looking Ahead
With more than 100 years of history in the Cincinnati region, Graphic Village continues to invest in forward-looking solutions that support both its business and the broader community.
This solar installation represents a meaningful step forward — toward more responsible operations, greater energy independence, and a more sustainable future for manufacturing.
