The Screen Printing Press Operator is responsible for screen printing on T-shirts, sweatshirts and a variety of other apparel. The press operator role includes the setup and operation of screen printing machines to print designs onto articles and materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Screen Printing Press Operator include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Set up the multi-color press for each job
• Start the dyeing oven and set thermostat to temperature specified for printing run
• Check quality of shirts to ensure quality control standards are met
• Inspect garments for misprints/defects
• Ensure counts are correct and items are boxed neatly
• Complete paperwork and prepare for shipping
• Clean squeegees and screens according to cleaning standards
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Follow all safety standards and policies

• EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED. Experience in Screen Printing required and a minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred.
• ATTENTION TO DETAIL
Ability to identify quality issues and comprehend and process details quickly.
• COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend job tickets and specifications. Good verbal communication skills to communicate with co-workers.
Willingness and interest to cross-train in other departments when needed.
• FAST-PACED WORK SKILLS
Ability to keep pace when jobs are moving fast and multiple tasks are presented simultaneously.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will stand the majority of his/her shift. The employee frequently is required to reach and lift with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subjected to a warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The environment is not controlled and fluctuates based on external temperatures.
